Dear Devotees,

                  I am inclined to narrate a glorious occasion. We all worship Lord Swaminarayan. HE is our presiding deity. The name ‘Swaminarayan’ got manifestation in a small village named ‘Fareni’. On the 14th day after Ramanand Swami left for the abode of God,Sahajanand Swami himself; graciously declared, in the vast   assembly at Fareni,“Devotees, I was named ‘Ghanshyam’ at Chhapaiya by my parents. Markendaya Hrishi (sage) named me ‘Hari, Krishna, Hari Krishna. Sanyasis in the forests called me ‘Nilkanth’. Muktanand Swami named me ‘Sarjudas’ at Loej. Ramanand Swami at the time of initiation gave me two names; ‘Sahajanand’ and Narayan Muni’. Today I declare my name to be ‘SWAMINARAYAN’. Therefore, worship the name ‘Swaminarayan’ from today onwards.” Then Muktanand Swami, other saints etc. chanted incessantly the name ‘Swaminarayan’ in the assembly. The sect “Swaminarayan’ came into being. We,the saints at Fareni have decided to celebrate the completion of 210th year of the manifestation of the incantation ‘Swaminarayan’. It is our desire to make you all participate in the celebration. You are earnestly requested to join in the celebration just by observing some of the vows as listed and explained on the following page. All house holders, saints, male and female can join willingly.
